In my third year at Graphic Design College we were commissioned to design our own business cards. In this card I wanted to express my identity. Being red haired and very much a daydreamer as a little girl, this was the result!

My first internship at College was at a company in Arnhem, called ZaaZoo, basically a search engine for travels. I worked at the Design Department which was affiliated with other travel companies like MSN Reizen, Cadeaubox, Weekend Company and others. My main task was to re-design the MSN-reizen homepages. Subsequently I had to design a logo for a newly affiliated company which caters for cheap hotel deals, called Hotel Deal. While sketching I noticed that I could form a key out of the letters O and E. However, ZaaZoo selected my second logo because it had a more ‘budget’ look.
During Photography class we had to take ‘sad pictures’. Walking outside looking for a sad picture, I saw this dead pigeon lying on the sidewalk and I felt sorry for the poor bird but at the same time I was struck by its beauty, just lying there.
In my second year at College we were commissioned to design a seed bag. We were free to pick any style we liked. I chose Art Nouveau because of it's curly form of vegetation.
Leafing through a National Geographic magazine my eye was caught by edited images of the landscape as it could have looked before New York existed. I made a collage of these two elements of nature and the architecture of New York.
A museum about the culture history of Twente, called De Twentse Welle, asked our College to design a new carton which contains water. This being one of the items they sell in their shop. In our design we were supposed to mix our own style with the existing style of the museum. I sought to loosen up the fairly sober style of the museum by designing a display of splashing water within a limited palette.
This board was part of a group project at College. Among several items we had to design for an imaginary modelling agency called Typez, we made this graphic chandelier as an eyecatcher. Little christmas lights attached at the back shine through tiny holes drilled in the board.
